FAQ's

Will these fit my existing UK sockets?

Yes, our socket spacers are designed specifically for standard UK single gang (1 gang) and double gang (2 gang) sockets. They fit both metal and plastic back boxes and work with all major UK socket brands. Simply choose the single or double gang option to match your socket type.

Do I need an electrician to install these, or can I do it myself?

No electrician required! Installation is a simple DIY job that takes just minutes. You'll need to isolate the power at your consumer unit, unscrew your existing socket faceplate, position the spacer, and reattach using the longer screws provided. If you're uncomfortable working with electrics, consult a qualified electrician.

How do I know which depth I need - 10mm, 15mm, or 20mm?

Measure the gap between your wall surface and the back of your socket faceplate. For newly skimmed plaster, 10mm usually works. For dot-and-dab plasterboard or thin acoustic panels, try 15mm. For thicker installations like tile backer board or deep acoustic panels, choose 20mm. If unsure, measure the gap with a ruler before ordering.

Can I use these over acoustic wall panels?

Yes, our socket spacers are ideal for acoustic panel installations. They allow your sockets to sit flush with the panel surface rather than recessed behind it. Choose the depth that matches your panel thickness - typically 15mm or 20mm for most acoustic panels.

Are screws included?

You can purchase screws as an additional add on. We use standard UK back box screw sizes like 40mm or 75mm. We have black nickel or silver screws available, for black and grey spacers you will receive black nickel screws, for white spacers you will receive silver screws. If you need any extra or replacement screws you can purchase themhere.

Do I need to turn off the power?

Yes, absolutely! Always isolate the power at your consumer unit (fuse box) before removing any socket faceplate. Test the socket with a voltage tester to confirm it's dead before proceeding. Safety first!
