Fitting a light switch or single socket over acoustic panels, slatted timber, tiles or fresh plasterboard? Once the wall gains depth the back box sits too far back, and the faceplate no longer pulls up square. This 1-gang spacer brings the faceplate forward so it sits flush and level, with no wall alterations and no rewiring: isolate the circuit, unscrew the faceplate, sit the spacer behind it and refit.
Recessed on one side only
Most spacers are recessed on both faces. Ours is recessed on one side, so it can be turned round to let the switch body sit proud. That matters if you are fitting a switch with a clip-on cover, which will not seat properly against a double-recessed spacer.
Which depth do I need?

10mm: tiles, thin panelling, and back boxes that are only slightly recessed

15mm: most acoustic slat panels, and 12.5mm plasterboard over battens

20mm: thick acoustic panels, boarded and battened walls, and deeper smart switch modules that need clearance
